Urgent help needed
 

I am currently having my gearbox rebuilt. My car is a version 1 RA 94 model. After braking 2 gears i mananged to get a replacement gearbox out of a 95 STI RA which we are having to mess about with swapping the diff etc as my version 1 has a larger differential. Please see photo's below as i try to explain the problem with the use of crappy pictures (I apologise in advance):)

This is the 5th gear out of my old gearbox.In the pictures the plate that i am pointing at has 3 little steel arms coming off it on the new 5th gear and i wanted to know basically would it be ok to use this new 5th gear in my old gearbox or would these 3 arms that come off the plate get in the way of anything.

Any help would be much appreciated. I apologise for sounding like i am confusing:confused: myself let alone anybody else.
