How hard is it to go to ebay and find out yourself? :D

Longjing 20 June 2007 09:04 PM

Blimey!

Freak 20 June 2007 09:05 PM

Its not been hacked. Its just very very clever scammers putting skins over auction pages.
Dont whatever you do put in your password and user name when it prompts you for them to look at the item...

Its a fake page sitting on top of the real one that redirects you- I have no idea how they do it and make it appear on ebay, and nor do any of the other power sellers I know.
If you look quickly, it redirects you to a fake page.

wrx-kris 20 June 2007 09:07 PM

HankScorpio 20 June 2007 09:22 PM

Firefox picks it up as forgery.

Fake ads with scripted redirect to fake front end looking for passwords.

Ford and Volkswagn have examples on the first page.

For goodness sake, don't log into the next page!!

OllyK 20 June 2007 09:24 PM

Ahhh - javascript embeded in the custom HTML of the add that does a re-direct.

That's the nice about using roboform to autolog you on, if I see an ebay logon page I know it isn't valid otherwise roboform would have logged me on!

Scooby Soon! 20 June 2007 09:36 PM

google toolbar blocked it,

ebay toolbar blocked it,

Vista blocked it,

I only wanted to look at the pics!

HankScorpio 20 June 2007 09:38 PM

Bit more digging...

They've embedded a flash file from photobucket using ISO codes and that does the redirect.

file is called - 05grryzly.swf

Jamie120182 20 June 2007 09:44 PM

Chris L 20 June 2007 09:44 PM

For those of you using Firefox, run this SecureBrowsing Add On from Finjan - it checks for potential malicious content in websites.

HankScorpio 20 June 2007 09:53 PM

My FF came up straight away, no add ons. Very impressed.

Geezer 20 June 2007 10:20 PM
