Computer restart problem, please help!!!
 

My parents have a problem with their computer. Its an E-machine 2220 running Windows XP Home.

She has gone to switch it on this morning and it starts to load XP then it comes up with the E-machine logo and restarts again and it keeps doing it.

No changes have been made to the pc, it was just booted up as normal. Virus protection etc is all up to date.

Any ideas?

A few things to try:
Boot into safe Mode - pressing F8 when starting up PC and choose safe mode to see if PC boots up.
Open up PC and reseat memory modules.
May also be hard drive issue - try using manufacturers diagnostic util to check for errors...

Thanks mate, will give that ago later. Been told it may also be a cap leaking on the motherboard.

Its time for them to buy a new pc anyway. Just hope the hard drive is ok.

Spoke to E-machine and they don't support their own model. :lol1:

So I told them where to go. :D
