Seen that a few weeks ago and is impressive. I used to have a 5dr Civic 1.8VTi-S which was fun and practicle. That new Type-R is a good all round package and is looking like a favourite to replace my Impreza with.

The uk dealers swear blind its the same car as the japs, they atcheive there bhp figures on higher octane juice and nothing else.

The uk hatch looks better i think

But it is a fact that the dealers of any car marque know nothng about the cars they sell. I've had a Ford dealer tell me the Ford Racing Puma had the 2L Zetec in it (b*llocks) and a Mazda salesman tell me that the RX-* PZ (Prodrive version) was more powerful than the standard car (again, b*llocks).

I do like the look of the JDM Civic, however £23k is a lot for a Civic though.

Looks good! :thumb:

I've found one for a bit less than £23k. It's a "pre-reg" one but it's a big saving and is tempting!

Don't listen to UK dealers, they don't their arse from their elbow. JDM CTR is very different. Has a proper suspension setup on the rear rather than the torsion beam setup of the UK car.

The differences in the engine spec of the previous CTR (EP3) between a JDM and UK car was loads. JDM car had longer duration cams, larger inlet manifold, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, higher CR.

JDM cars are superior in many ways.

How much would a UK car cost OTR ?

Im a senior salesman for Honda and a Product Champion (means im supposed to know everything about everything Honda) for my dealership.

Dont Tar us all with the same brush but yes i agree, not all car salesmen are car buffs like us.

The engine is the same as the UK market civic but the ECU has be fettled with in accordance with the higher RON fuel.

I once got told that the EP3 CTR was the fastest Honda ever, faster than the NSX!! That was in Braylake now Brayley Honda in St.Albans. Needless to say that the guy isn't there anymore. He was supposed to be some sort of senior sales or parts specialist or something. Oh and he didn't seem to believe there was an EK CTR..even though mine was parked outside!
