Should I buy a wagon ??
I've had a couple of Scoobys, sold my last one a couple of months ago.
So i want a new weekend toy and seen loads of wagons for sale, has anyone gone from a 4 door to a 5 door, if so is there much difference? Also would you rather have an import than a UK model.......... |

No difference in drive to a 4 Door, Just get that rear end braced & your onto a winner. :thumb: Uk Model as cheaper insurance & not that much difference in spec for the added Premium. http://images.fotopic.net/?iid=ymc5s...425&quality=70 Dean |

I went from a wagon to a saloon, both UK turbo's. I wish i hadn't swapped now as there is no difference between them other than the wagon being more practical and a bit different.

There has been and always will be a debate as to whether the wagon or saloon is the better version of the impreza...... saloon boys will point to the fact that the cars major claim to fame was rightly due to its rally prowess so therefore the 4 door must be the one to have.... wagon owners point out the sleeper effect of the lesser spoilered version that performs equally (or sometimes better ) and the practicallity that the 5 door offer's at times..... i personally prefer the looks of the wagon, cant see me getting a saloon at any point in the future,if i change it will be to another 5 door.
But then i have the dilema, and further can of worms, that nothing beats the look of the classic version.......... so mine will last a very long time. |
Get a Wagon, you won't regret it.

I like all scoobs, but the wagon's combination of rarity, practicality and performance is unbeatable.
Check out my scooby and I'll sure you'll agree.;) |
I have had 2 saloons in the past and sice April a wagon. As a family chap I find the wagon so much more convenient. Differences apart from the obvious - I find cabin noise slightly higher, especially exhaust noise (maybe not a bad thing)
Rattles and squeaks - seem to have quite a few from rear - yet to be identified. Handling - most of the time just as good performance and handling untill really pushed and the back end seems to squirm more than saloon - maybe a brace would stop that. Overall I prefer a wagon for its fairly understated looks and practicality. |
The arches on wagons are less flared compared to saloons but is doesn't make them any less attractive.
Just thinking about looks which some see as important. |
used to have a '97 Type R, then had a green classic wagon totally standard, now have an 04 WRX PPP Wagon :D
Nowt better than warping past "sports cars" with a fridge in the back LOL |
Yeah but you get 2 spoilers on the boot with a wagon to compensate!lol

Year of the Wagon
Should you get a wagon :wonder:
YES... YOU SHOULD! :D :D We are on our second and are contemplating a Forrester also to join it :norty: :norty: ..Besides the new Impreza will be in Wagon/ Hatch shape only, no saloons for UK (as i understand it). In july issue (current one) of japanese performance there is a hatch report and features the WRX wagon. Here are some pictures to wet your appetite :D http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...nked_plate.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...c/WagonAss.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...DSCF3507-1.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...c/DSCF3478.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...esc/wspic1.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...c/DSCF3858.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...c/DSCF3950.jpg |
As an alternative to a wagon, get a Forester! Even more space than a wagon, and if you think the wagon is a sleeper (my mate when he had a 1.6 kept having Novas trying to race him) then the Forester is invisible! OK the UK model has the hairdryer turbo, but a used TD04 is peanuts cheap!

Just thinking about looks which some see as important. Unless you put a replica 22b body kit on your wagon like i did last year! ;) IMO (but then it is my car!) I think it makes the wagon look better than it did in the first place :luvlove: , so very wide now. |
