Radiator Upgrade

Thought it was time I spent some hard earned on the scoob.

My radiator split at the top on the plastic (common problem I would imagine, very poor design)

So I went and brought this from a company in the states

I hope it fits, it's bloody huge.

One immediate thing I noticed is it does'nt have a small pipe at the top left (where the original one connects to header bottle), but it does have one 3/4 of the way down on the right hand side (red arrow) (original one doesn't).

Would it cause a problem If I went from the header bottle to the "red arrow" one?

Any comments/help appreciated.
Rads too hot to swap at the moment anyways.

Thanks in advance

My car is a 94 STi Type RA if that makes any difference, can somebody check theres?

Well 2 hrs later and ŁU(K

These will not fit without modifications, despite what the manufacturers say.

1) it interferes with the air con

2) the feet doesn't sit in the holes as the oem one did

3) I've got to change the fans, or modify them so they will fit

4)none of the holes line up

Oh well the weekends here, gonna go out and have a sesh tonite then hit into it tommorrow

YEAH!
After some modding, the rads installed.
It's massive and took a fair bit of work to get it in there.
I'll take a pic of it and post.

Allot of effort but I reckon it was worth it

A great deal of difference, even with hard driving the needles well below half.

Got bloody heat stroke fitting it though

Next task is to upgrade the top mount, I'm beginning to like a challenge.

The rad stands out like a sore thumb, so I think it's time to clean up the engine bay and add a little bling

Wish i'd upgraded my rad when the plastic went on it, just didnt have the cash at the time.

Does look good though!
