Battery question

Roughly how much would I have to pay for a new battery for my Scoob...1993 WRX-RA

thanks in advance

I paid £30 for a battery with a 2 year warranty from local auto electrics place, don't normally keep a car longer than that so why pay more?

It's way better than the crappy Subaru offering BTW :)

Halfords for a newage is about £70, that's with a 4 year warranty and is Lithium or something and is heavy duty. I've heard they are quite good but never needed it in the end, a CTEK charger/conditioner sorted my problems.

Thanks for the info....Mines just about screwed, though it doesn't suprise me, I hardly use the car.

Cheers
Phil

I had the same problem, I checked the battery myself, got the garage to check it and then tested the current draw, no reason why but the battery was going flat in about 2 weeks with not being used. I've bought a CTEK3600 charger, and whilst I've not started the car since fitting it, all the lights go green to say the battery is charged and my multi-meter confirms it. All I had to do was make an extension cable so the cable would reach the car from the garage although I reckon optimate ones would fit.

To be quite honest, the battery looks as if it's the original but being a 1993/94 I can't quite take that in......batteries don't last 14yrs do they

No they don't, but if you don't use the car a lot your new one may give you just as much grief....

Just a thought

Brought a new one last saturday as mine was finally dead. Got one of their so called "heavy duty" one's from my local tyre place which was £53 inc vat, 075 is the code for my classic. Previous one lasted me four years.
