Sorry I've got no idea what it's worth but it looks awesome :D Chances are though if the car is in Ireland like the advert says the seller will want alot for it :( Car's go for much more over there.

V4JDMSTi 05 June 2007 12:13 PM

at the end of the day the car is only worth what you or anyone else is prepared to pay for it. nice car though.

bpm1588 05 June 2007 12:15 PM

it does sound like the one to have, pre-owned by nicky grist and numbered 000

V4JDMSTi 05 June 2007 12:20 PM

would think that he'll want a lot for it. think other 22bs are going for around £20k+ aren't they?

think that there's a 22b owners club website 22b.com? may be worth a look and see what they're going for on there.

Why has it got a pre98 coil pack on it - I thought all cars after 98 have the square versions?

funkyspider 05 June 2007 12:42 PM

There has been some discussion about this car on our local group. The anoraks say (HYP1C off LADS - hope you don't mind m8).

"Nicky Grist had 2(1 x him,1 x wife). One of the one's he had was sold via Robbies. The guy who bought it off Nicky ,blew it up within a week, so Nicky gave him the engine out of his. The car Nicky had left then had a replacement engine, that wasn't a 22B engine , but a stroked 2 litre, done at Autosportif. Not sure which one this is. The 1st one changed hands a lot (@ 5 times in 12 months back in 2004/5) ,the 2nd has the wrong engine."

That might explain the coilpacks that have been spotted.

Also where are the original wheels as they are worth a lot.

22b without a 22b engine isnt a 22b :D

On a side note why do all nice cars end up in Ireland?

That makes more sense as the 22b I saw Nicky driving had WRC mirrors and a FMIC.

If you do decide to get it, then have an inspection done by a specialist on 22bs, someone like prosport. I personally wouldn't have this car if I was after a 22b. Firstly it's in NI and I'm not, secondly I'd want the very rare and expensive original wheels.

mad555 05 June 2007 06:35 PM

I have contacted the seller on Sunday via email regarding more pics and details but he has not yet replied,so cant be to keen to sell.

Never understood why the 22B came with those BBS alloys ...imho didn't look right, should have come with the wrc tarmac speedlines or indeed the pictured OZ's that were on the wrc car the following year ('99?) ...but appreciate people wanting to keep them 'authentic'

RON 06 June 2007 10:09 AM

All 22b's were built in 98, hence the coil packs, they are original, don't go thinking that just cos it's registered in 99 it should have 99 coil packs....!!!

Tim Bomford 06 June 2007 09:51 PM

Engine looks right, as do the coil packs. You will want the original wheels, also try to get the original gear knob too.
Value wise...low 20's these days. The car has "history" yes, and good pedigree but whats it worth to YOU!
