Fiesta Problem !?! Won't start

Juts bought a 2nd hand Ford Fiesta. Appears to be in great condition (X-reg with 38k on the clock). Have been pootling about in it for the last month of so with no problem. Today we moved it 10 yards to clean it. It started fine, just like normal. But about an hour later, when we went to put it back again it wouldn't start. Just made a clicking noise (from the start motor I assume) when the key was turned.

I tried jolting the starter motor by turning the key as the car rolled forward and I engaged 1st gear. But no difference. I assume the start motor is stuck or the battery (strangely) is flat. But I don't know Fiestas. Any idea?

Flat battery would be my guess. Did you also clean the inside? doors open for a while with interior light on? doesnt take lone to go flat if the battery is already weak

Charge the battery and you should be okay. You'll need to find out why it went flat though. I'd check what voltage the alternator is putting out, should be about 13V IIRC..

Thanks chaps. The doors were open and the radio on for a while. So probably was that.
