Guys,

Need some help in terms of buying a back box.

I used to have the Afterburner system on my old WRX and that sounded very nice and on the motorway wasn't OTT.

Now I have a STI I want to change its current Miltek back box. It's quiet but it also seems to be very restrictive?:wonder:

Whats the best GRP N type back box that is both nice looking (if there is such a thing) loud but not to over the top.

Only one I can really come across is the TSL Grp N one for £175.00:thumb: but who else does more or less the same?

Cheers
Steve

I'd be very surprised if the back box was restrictive - more likely to be the rest of the system.

I just replaced my exhaust (which was stock JDM STi but with a Milltek backbox) for a complete turbo back 3" Milltek and system and got just shy of 360bhp :D

I have a secondhand 2.75" Milltek resonated decat centre section going spare (I never got around to fitting it before going for the full system last week). Drop me a PM if you're interested - I'm not looking for huge amounts of dosh so it might be worth a punt?

Also got a 2.75" Milltek backbox to sell - but guess you don't another :lol1:

Has anyone got the Scoobyclinic "ULTRASOUND" back box?

Hey Tim,

My car has the same system I think anyway mate. To me it sounds like its stopping flow but I could be wrong .

I need to get more burble. The Vortex system was Ideal for that but like I said I fancy a non Jap-Style back box. Thought of a GRP N style.

I'm sure there are many out there but need other people input before buying one.

May I suggest eBay for your parts sir? LOL . Cheers mate.

Steve

Thought you meant you only had the backbox? If so, then the centre cat and pipework of the std exhaust maybe the culprit. If you have a full system, then fair enough!
