Any suggestions on oil for a V5-6 RA tranny (ultra close ratio; works hard on the highway) and an R180 rear diff? I've read that Mobile 1 SHC 75w90 is a good choice for both after an initial run in of about 10K. Suggestions/comments appreciated!

Anyone? Would really appreciate some input...

I have no personal experience with your car, but Castrol Syntrax 75/90 works for all the Impreza, while Silkolene BOA 90LS is a good choice for the diff (extreme pressure hypoid gear oil, with special frictional properties for limited slip differential and high performance gear boxes).
From the other a full synthetic gear oil is to thin for our gearboxes and cause problems in gear changes (2nd, 4th).
Some good gear oils are the Motul and Redline 75/90.
Allthough not tested from me!
