FAILED MOT

I had my MY00 UK Turbo for an MOT todday and it failed on emmisons.

It currently has a 3" fully decatted system

I'm in need of a full standard exhaust system asap to help me pass my MOT.

I'm in he Midlands, Leicester.

Can anyone help me out please???

Thanks

It should pass with just a catted centre section I think, so no need to remove the whole system.

Why did you take it for a mot with decat still fitted? no way of passing..... got mine booked in on thursday and swapped over the center section to a cat and refitted the original ecu instead of the apexi...... fingers crossed it will be ok,was last year anyways.

The thing is, that the system is 3" all the way including downpipe, so a standard cat won't fit onto the system.
Thats why i need a complete system from the manifold to help me pass my mot.

Buy a standard cat and have 3" flanges welded to it at your local exhaust place or get a mate to do it. Then you have one for the test every year.

It wont make any difference that its 2.5" for the test if you do the above.

Just resurecting this thread to answer a question I have....

Is there anyone out there that can confirm having just a center section cat fitted is ok for MOT?.... last year I refitted the downpipe for the MOT cause I thought it would be the safest bet...but its a right pain in the backside and took up most of a weekend to remove and replace...This year I was hoping just the center would be enough to bring the emmisions down?

How far over the emissons level was it? mine keeps passing every year with no cats!

No, the testing station may pass it, but it cannot pass a cat' emissions test with no cats, not possible.

It will pass with just a catted centre, but it takes longer to get hot, so make sure its delievered red hot nd get the tester to give it some time to warm up.

Cheers guys...

No she wasn't over the emission level.. passed fine with the downpipe cat....its just a right bugga to keep replacing... and a sports cat is a little over budget for now....

So with a good run beforehand she should be ok with just the center.... ??

Just as well they do a free restest... Just in case....lol
