Howto power HU with MainsPlug
 

Bit daft but, I had an old HU and a mains adapter with multi voltage lying around.

i put the plug on 12v and connected to the 12v on the headunit pin.

all that happened is it ejected a cd i didnt know i left in but it wont do anything but eject.

i think for it to take a cd in the ILLUMINATION needs to work.


is there another wire that illuminates a HU

Yes, theres an illumination cable also a remote cable that lets the HU know that the power has been cut when the ignition is switched off.
