This is a message to those people who have the above kits (AP Racing 4-pot or 6-pot) and 17 inch wheels.

Could you tell me what wheels you have (maker and model name) and what make and size of tyres you run on them.

looking for some 17 inch wheels and pretty sure that the AP 4-pot will fit, but want to see if 6-pot will also fit, as if I'm splashing out on bigger wheels I might as well go the whole hog and get the best brakes I can, hence maybe 6-pots (or movit porsche setup? hmmmmm)

i've just upgraded to 17" OZ SuperLs with Toyo Proxes 215/40/17 over the ap 4pot kit, which is all nice and snug, i wouldn't like to try and squeeze the 6pots in there though.

thanks. is the clearance width of caliper to width of wheel, or disk + caliper (side on view) the problem??

not sure how much bigger the 6-pot is, think that width wise it's the same, though no idea really.

if you only intend on doing the odd track day I wouldn't bother with the six pots. Save your money and put it towards something else.

I have the AP 4-pot kit and no matter how hard I've tried I just cannot get fade and the braking response is nothing short of amazing.

Obvioulsy if you're looking for a serious track car then get the 6-pots.........

dont think 6 pots stick out any further.

I would advise ringing mike a scoobymania and asking him on the fitments.

OZ wheels all seem to fit, as do my bbs wheels.

four or six pot is up to you but make sure you get the 330 mm kit not the 305 or so.

six pot looks better but pads are more expensive to replaces, not that i have bought a set yet!

The other thing that Adam missed out, is that the choice of pads available for the 6 pot calipers is not as good as for the 4 pot calipers.

Dan - Using AP 6 pot calipers, DS2500 pads, with Revolution Motorsport 17" 5 spoke wheels from Scoobysport (been told they dont do them anymore)

Think Mo has a point, as in I'm not going to be a trackday star, thus 6-pots might be overkil for the road, and maybe odd trackday. Saving money is always a good idea. As with previous thread, I'm also thinking of the movit/Jas tracktion porsche kit, but this really limits the pads/discs I can use. individuality is nice, but expensive ;)

just something else to consider. I ended up getting the 305 or similar kit to fit under 16" rims, because, 16" slicks were far cheaper than 17"s. I'm not sure if this still applies as I haven't needed to purchase track tyres for some time now.

If you get the 330mm discs you are restricted to 17" rims.

another good point there! problem is that the 305 kit won't fit under my 16's hence the real reason for going up to 17"s. of course for trackdays I could always get the a set of 16s that would fit, hmm, but to be honest I don't think I'd be doing enough trackdays to warrant a set of wheels and/or slicks. though you never know!

you really do need to get another set of tyres for track. Why not consider part worns, you can pick up a set of 16" rims and tyres from someone who has upgraded to 17s for next to nothing, especially if they're well scuffed. 17s ofcourse would be better, but they are that bit more expensive.

I destroyed a set of virtually new road tyres in 15 minutes at Silverstone. I aint gonna do it again! OK my driving style might have a little to do with it but if it's gonna be your first few track outings then I suggest that you explore what your car can do. You wont look back:D:D

I have the AP 6pots fitted under my 17" BK238 they are awesome brakes :D I went for the 6 pots instead of the 4 pots just because there was little difference in price although the pads might work out a bit cheaper ;)

Thanks! as you may have seen on your thread I was aksing about the BK's as I'm looking at a set, so if the sixes will fit under them, I'm a happy man!

What offset do you have on your Super leggeras?
I am considering AP 4 pots but wasn't sure about them fitting
under the Super leggera's.
What kind of clearance have you got on the SL's spokes?
and did you get the 28mm thick discs?
