ive got an 02 sti,it has a prodrive backbox,if i have a decat will it pass mot and does it have to be remapped.Thanks in advance

Agree MOT failure - unless you find a friendly garage. I've decatted over a year ago no remap and no problems.

Also as it won't pass an MOT its in contravention of the construction and use regs so illegal to drive on the road.

My 2003 STi Type Uk has been decatted at centre section only, so know only one cat. It still passes the MOT every year. Thats at two different MOT stations.

So maybe every car gives different emission readings.

If you want to be legal just pick up a used ppp sportcat downpipe and decat centre and fit it, get a remap and all should be well.
