KNOCKING FROM FRONT

hi just had my car mot'd and it passed first time which is good, but i have a knocking on the front sounds like drivers side and it is like a fast knocking over bumps not just one,if that makes any sense i asked the garage to check it i even had a look myself, and they couldn't find it they checked everything like ball joints, track rod ends, arb, suspsension, bushes the lot got it back and its still the same, its a 2001 uk300 i am out of ideas the garage said nothing is loose and looks fine, just wondering if there were any things on this model i didn't know about thanks in advance:thumb:

Had an old Sierra once where the bushing in the damper was worn due to damage from a severe kerbing and Ford garage couldn't find it. (I've now divorced her, and I don't mean the car). This allowed the wheel to rock in the vertical plane and made a rattle like you describe. Get hold of top of wheel with car on ground and see if you can rock it towards and away from car. New struts if you get any movement, sorry.

Knockin' on heavens door....

Don't they all do it, mine does. Sails through the MOT, but noisy front and classic rear Knocking syndrome....

I tightened up the front struts to shut mine up, but a year on it's back....

The rears are known to do it, mine are awful, but soon to be replaced.

P.S. Hi D1CCY, I used to live in Cottingham, and waved of a morning, black bug-eye on an 02 plate, now gone west to poverty and pestilence....
