Bass without a box

ICE is far from my strong point when it comes to cars, and have a quick question for you guys in the ICE department.

My car has an upgraded Alpine head unit and speaker system, which sounds great in the mid range (four 5/6" speakers) and treble areas (four tweeters), but is lacking a bit in grunt/bass area. Is there any way of getting decent bass without having to resort to a bass box in the boot?

I wouldn't want to go down that route if i can avoid it. Did i see somewhere a piece of kit that can be mounted under the driver/passenger chairs or did i dream that??

Thanks, but already have the water reservoir in the boot, and dont really want to loose any more space unless there is no other way.
