ECU Light

Hey guys not so long ago i had a 3" system put on my01 wrx.

all has been well with it and all of a sudden the ecu light came on i took it
to subaru and they told me its because i have had the mid cat removed.

They reset it and its come back on again, does anyone know where i can get
it disabled so it wont show up again or a i fighting a losing battle.

Cheers

Rob.

Ive had a simaliar problem, I recently fitted a 3" turbo back system but it took two weeks before the ECU light came on. I had it diagnosed as an Air/fuel ratio fault and hi exhaust temp.

Needless to say im now taking it steady until the Remap but if i was you i'd get a second opinion as i thought it was a decat fault at first, Think the others mods ive done have all combined and contributed to the problem and now im having to fork out for the map.

Im not to fussed though as you have to expect these things when you start fiddling:norty:

Let me know how you get one :thumb:

Thanks for the reply i was told it was something to do with to much air in the mixture.

will have to save that little harder for the remap :lol1: as pockets are kind of empty at the mo due to a nice hol coming up.

I know how you feel, We go away on the 11th for our holiday so it wont be done till were back but thats not to bad as Scoobyclinic carn't fit us in till after the 12th anyway.

Just a thought:idea: if your running a different air filter like a Hi flow panel or induction kit.
Stick the standard one back in as it should give less air flow and allow the mixture to richen up abit which inturn should drop your hi exhaust temp.
The light will probably remain on until you have the fault reset.

Hope this helps have a good holiday :thumb:

I still have the standard airbox on at the min, got an induction kit to go on but will wait till the remap to put it on.

Have a good hol:)
