Trying to free up some HD space I came across a load of TMP folders in Program Files -> Common Files -> Symantec shared -> Virus Defs. In the folders there are some whopping great TMP files of about 500Mb in size. Altogether they must be hogging about 3Gb of space.
Can I safely bin these? I don't think they're virus defs as they're down as TMP files. Surely they're not all current virus defs?
Any ideas?

Well i don't have any big TMP files on my NAVed PC.

You could try moving or renaming them somewhere else, then re-booting and checking for any error messages. Also, try another Liveupdate (with the files moved) to see if any new ones come back.

Are you sure their NAV files?

Do you have "Norton Utilities" which protects some 1500 files even though their deleted? If so, try emptying the Norton Protected Recyle Bin.
