I have just started to have problems with my clutch slipping when on full boost on my UK94.
Can anyone tell me, how much a new clutch is, best places to have one fitted in South East, and how much life my clutch is likely to have left. Do I have to postpone Xmas???
I have been advised to have it done sooner rather than later to prevent flywheel problems!!?

Any replies appreciated especially from Kent people.

New Subaru clutch is about £600 fitted from a dealer including release bearing, AP is £395-98inc VAT from Scoobymania, but you have to buy your own release bearing (about £70) and then pay for fitting which takes about 5 hours.

How much life is left depends on how you treat it, letting it slip will make if wear extremely quickly and may damage the flywheel.

Thanks Matt.
Anyone advise me for which clutch, AP or standard Subaru and if possible a decent garage in SE that will fit clutch other than dealer.

Try GDA near Tunbridge Wells. Graham has always been very happy to chat about subarus (free advice is always helpful).
Both chaps are hard working & knowledgable.
They recommended an AP organic clutch( which I bought but have not had it fitted yet) they will also skim & lighten the flywheel. Can't remember what they quoted but just give them a ring, say Mark recommended them.

Best of Luck getting it sorted
PS paid about £360 inc vat for the clutch from a garage in devon, adverts in Banzai

similar situation

my 1993 wrx the clutch is slipping, have spoken with Pete at scoobysport, will be going there in January, just under £800 full fitted with a lighten flywheel as well.

Who ever does it for just make sure they know what they are doing, a mate had his wagon done at a fast fcukup place and thats what they did, he then ended up getting new drive train to get back on the road.

Thanks Chaps

Spoke to Graham at GDA. He sounded very knowledgable. In the end he advised Subaru clutch as my car is uk and nearly un-modified. (Guessing 220 hp) The actual clutch is approx £230 so much cheaper than a AP one. I use the car for comuting rather than track days so should hopefully still get the mileage and easier driving.
