Have just recieved a phone call from a friend attending the Rally of Great Britain.
Apparently the Police have got 2 Red, Citroen Berlingo vans, with drop down back windows, and laser speed detection equipment in them.
He was around the Buillith Wells area.

Watch out on the M4 for the white ones. Are the Police hiring them job-lot or what?

Whats the story with the ones with the drop down back windows? Why cant they be like normal gatso vans and just take pictures through the glass?

The red ones are also quite busy on the A14 and surrounding villages in the Northampton area.
Real sneaky as they look like "red" van man parked up in a layby with the back door open.

They are labelled up as "safety" cameras - are they actually pulling people over or is it just a letter in the post a week later?

They use white vans in the Birmingham region with the slide down back windows. Usually 300 yards down the road there is coppers on bikes, waiting for you. The areas they park up are always jam packed with traffic, so perhaps they were looking for tax dodgers ???
