Are these both essential when fitting a Link ECU ? And why ??
When the link has been fitted did you get better or worse MPG....

Many thanks

Jase,

I'd guess they're recommended if you're trying to change your map at all, as you'll know if you've leaned out too much (with Lambdalink) or whether you've advanced ignition to the point that you're getting det (knocklink)

Hopefully someone with more of a clue will let you know better, but if going the link route, and particularly if self-tuning, I'd recommend 'em.

Nick.

Thanks Nick

Not self - tuning though !!!

A knocklink may also help you when you have a batch of dodgy fuel, and your engine dets anyway. At least when you see it (you don't always hear it), you can back off.

A lambdalink may also warn you if an injector is faulty, or another fuelling problem occurs, but then you'd have to know how to read it.

If you don't play around with tuning yourself, I would still advice the knocklink (I would even advice it for a standard car)

The most important reason for getting both is : the disco atmosphere they create in the car though :)

Lambdalink can also tell you when you're lambda sensor has either failed or is failing with heat.

Fuel consumption didn't change in my car.

:D

Of course MPG has fallen....can't stop using the loud pedal.. :D
On m-way cruising my mpg has increased actually.

Theo...you ought to see my cars "cockpit" in the dark sometime...4 gauges, lambda- and knocklink...and the Link tuning module.
Lovely.

Disco.
