Anyone had a sqeaky rear?
I drove my scooby the other day without the stero on for once and noticed a "sqeak" noise coming from the rear of the car.....?
If the car is only slightly moving i.e. traffic it starts low and builds up as the car moves faster? I've listened with the windows down but it doesn't seem to be brake related as it's not that loud outside? Any help before I get my wife to drive whilst Im locked in the boot .... Bibo |
I'm sure it's the brakes, it'll be the wear indicators making a tinny noise. Drive through brentwood high street with the windows down and listen...

Mine were doing that for ages after I changed the rear pads/disks. I could have sworn I'd greased them up proper, so re-done them, and they were fine, for a while. I've now put it down to crap brake pads, as it only happens now after hard braking.

I had a squeeky rear, turned into a crunchy rear within no time (literally 3 days)

Wooooo! nice pads!!!! Strange though, the rr pads were changed just before I brought the car only about a year ago? I'll check them tonight...
Maybe they just need greasing? |
mine only lasted a year:eek:

It was a small stone / Pebble lodged in between the disc & the caliper around the rear of the disc Just stick it in reverse on full lock & brake , Should spit it our , Or remove the wheel if it persists & remove Tiny ... |
