Any SMACS in Mac ?
I am thinking of moving over there, I just wondered if anyone could tell me places to avoid?
And areas to look for that are on the outskirts, Broken Cross for instance. And what is the train service like into manchester? :thumb: |
Im sure there is a few of us from there - I think Claire (clbscooby) is from there :wonder: - also Andy S knows about Macc me thinks
|
scooby rock (dan) and wr1bro (stu) are from there too :thumb:
|
hi there mate ,,broken cross is ok ya got green side next to it witch is a friendly and quiet place and the train service to manchestet is inter city straight there every hour
|
Macclesfield is my delivery patch. Tip if you own a Scooby avoid SK11-8 I.E the weston estate. And the Priory lane/Kennedy av estates SK10-3. I have to lock the van every delivery in those and have had my windows broken twice after my parcels.
For broken Cross look at the cornwall estate, or the pavilions off victoria rd. Personally I would go for Tytherington SK10-2. You are closer to the station and the estates are much cleaner. |
Bollington????
|
Depends on his budget. SK10-5 Bollington/Rainow is a good area, but property is dearer. Same applies for SK10-4 which is Prestbury/Mottram. Are you a millionaire??!!!.
|
Budget around 350 ish. Don't fancy bollington, nice, but too quiet. I imagine it would be like living in Royston Vasey :D
|
tytherington sounds like one of the places to look at that price

for that kind of budget i'd imagine you could buy the whole of macc and have it all as your own. it really puzzles me why somebody would want to live there:wonder: :D
|
and ste pulls out that real big spoon he has to stir the sh1t :D
|
last time i looked I lived in macc and i'm think i might be a member of smacs :brickwall
I live in broken cross and I will say if your thinking of this area look round the hospital and venture no further as there are two council estates close by. ones okay but the others a bit rough. also might be worth having a look at gawsworth or sutton if your budget is around 350k. |

It's that close it could be twinned with the place:eek: If you're thinking of using the train to commute, Broken Cross is the last place you should be looking, getting across town to and from the station in rush hour is a nightmare:mad: As has been said try Tytherington, they are your typical modern flat pack houses, but they do come with more land than most, and appear to be quite well built. Alternatively, if you can handle the omnipresent motorbikes, there are some nice houses on, and around, Buxton Road. |
Hello yes i do live in macc grew up in Bollingotn so watch it moneys!!!!
Currently live off Park Lane but have sold that and moving to Greenside, Broken Cross (will have drive and garage!!:luxhello: ). Macc is great lots of scoobys there. Train to Manchester about 20 mins intercity. Tytherington is a nice area to live and for £350k you could get yourself a very nice pad. And of course you are very near the Unicorn essential for those SMACS nights out!! |
Hi Stressy, I only said the Weston Estate was Dodgy in SK11-8. SK11-7 and 11-6 are far safer!!. The lakes estate, I:E: Grasmere Kendal etc in 11-8 are safer also.
I've had too many close encounters with the scally kind on Weston. Having said that A regular of mine has a EVO on Dudly walk, but he parks it with a wheel clamp on it and steering disk locks. He has given up on his stereo after 12 side windows!! |

Sorry, I mustn't have had any Deliveries for you!!. I was just going on personal experience, as a delivery driver on that estate.
No offence intended. The chap who posted this thread was asking for advice, and I gave it. |

All right, I'll shut up!!. Bad apples any where you live. My sister before we lost her was dating a drug addict ex-con who lived 5 doors away, and I live in a quiet rural village.
