You may want to have a look at this thread https://www.scoobynet.com/interior-1...entre-pod.html or there are plenty of others of a similar nature.
As suggested by RB5 286, i went for the JW Racing A Pillar housing which comes in either 1,2 or 3 pod variations. http://www.networkedsolutions.co.uk/...ar%20After.JPG |
Do all newage have the alarm sensors on the a pillars, or is it just the newish ones.... what have people done with these, just fixed them to the new a pillar??

Andy I have seen a few gauge pods now and really the one i want is the replacment A piller which is the same colour as the standard one. (possibly the one you are refering to and also pictured in the post above by Tissy! I've seen a few which are black and screw in the A piller about half way up but i dont want to screw things into my interior trim. |
Yep, the full a pillar are the ones to go for. The Nomad Racing one below seems to get some good comments... never seen one in the flesh tho :(
http://www.nomadracing.com/catalog/images/A1002.jpg If i'm not mistaken the Nomad and JW Racing ones may come from the same place. The alarm sensor must just be screwed onto the OEM pillar, so should be easy to fit to the new one.... famous last words! Tony. |
Got the Nomad one on myself. I got Prosport to fit mine although it kept slipping down slightly so ended up lining the back with velcro which did the trick

Is it a good match the old pillar, and does it fit well around the rubber seals etc?
I see Prosport added the alarm sensor to the new pillar too, should be a fairly easy job. Tony. |
It is a good match (colour and dimensions are spot on) and is fine around the seals. The original has several clips on the back which this doesn't, hence the use of velcro in addition to the screw at the top (supplied) to keep it in position. You could use double sided tape rather than velcro.
Yeh, Prosport refitted the alarm sensor. I can't remember how it is connected, but should imagine there are connectors somewhere along the wire for removal. Neil |
Cheers Neil... this seems to be the one to go for then :D
