In the dim and distant past, someone - possibly Phil B - posted some pace notes for Donington.

Does anyone know where they are or have a copy?

Cheers,

David

David, have you got Scoobytrax? I gotta admit I got a copy purely for the Rob Mac laps around Dono, goes through braking points, turn in etc. Nice! (Even better since I could brakes later with big brake kit http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ) .

Chuck,

sadly no!

Anyway - what is your car status at the moment? 22b gone?

Cheers,

David

I'll give it a go but....

this is from *memory* and the distances will be MILES out as I'm notoriously crap at remembering distances of straights, as (IMHO) Bends are driving, straights are just the wait in between. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif... (I won't abbreviate (sp?))

--- From Pit Straight ---

150
Medium Right late tightens
20
Absolute right long over slight crest into care flat left over dip
30
medium right opens to to fast maybe
50
absolute left
50
care fast left keep in and medium right over crest
100
care
medium right on crest opens to absolute right long +
300 (????)
absolute crest
40
square right minus into fast left plus 40 over finish

Like I say, the straights will be MILES out, but the bends are probably about there...

Two other resources...

Simon,

thanks for the notes - I went to your website first - but Donington is not listed, or I can't find it - and I have just looked again!

Phils notes were really good and they were posted on here somewhere - but I can't find them.

Thanks anyway.

Tony,

good to hear from you - you have been very quiet - Jason's setting up a FLEET MEET soon - come along. I'll take you out in the car - the latest mapping tweaks make it scary!

Off to Dono tomorrow - hate to say it but going out with Mike Rainbird was much more scary http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Anyway, spent a couple of hours practising on Touring Car Championship (1) and after a lot of practise laps got two first places in the championship - the lines are remarkably accurate!.

Cheers,

David

Hello stranger,

I've got some Donington footage if you want that. Anyway, you've been around there already, or did you have your eyes closed?

Tony Quinn 23 November 2000 07:51 PM

Don't worry about Mike's car, it was probably more scary because it was falling apart like all good Dagenham product. Actually my most scary ride was in a Cosworth too. It doesn't instill confidence when the driver starts screaming!

I'll try to be at the next meet, it may be the nearest that I get to an Xmas party in Hampshire since my employer isn't interested in such things.

Good luck with Donington! Just keep saying to yourself "shiny side up, shiny side up,...."

Trout 25 November 2000 08:42 AM

Shiny side stayed up - 'cos I drove really slowly!

Plenty of offs for the the rear wheel drivers and an XR4x4 with crap tyres. This was in the morning when it was damp.

A 355 went off into the Armco and none of the marshalls noticed - the camera view was obscured by the bridge!

Funniest car was a Capri that was sideways at 40mph. But there was a very, very fast 2.8 capri - might have been one of the late turbo models - but they kept it a secret!
