Hi ive just had the car back from an engine rebuild. I have had cosworth pistons, steel rods, baffled sump, gasflowed heads, bosch fuel pump, and motec ecu all added. The car came back first time performing v badly supposed to be 345bhp. The company said it was the standard fuel pump not keeping up so that was changed for a bosch one. Got the car back again and 4th and 5th gear are terrible v hesitant and suddenly cutting boost. The cold start is also v poor. I have an sti boost gauge which only goes to 1.3bar but 5th gear is well past this i would guess where 1.5bar would be.
The car is an sti4 type r. What is the max a vf24 can flow?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
CJ

Sound like it needs mapping properly!!
Vf 24 should do 1.5 Bar OK. I run a V4 Type R rally car with 34mm restrictor and this is ok UP TO 1.6 BAR.Hesitation could be lack of fuel at very top of map or possibly spark break down.Try closing plug gap down to 0.3mm - if problem goes then spark related,if still there probably fuelling.I map these things for a living(Gems,Motec,MBE etc) so if you want any help E-mail me on simpson.msport@virgin.net.But your first action might be to take it back to the guys who did the job!!

Hope this helps.
