Good site by the way.How many escort cosworths were sold in England. They are pretty rare over here and what price where they new? How did the car manage to get sufficient amounts of air to the intercooler with out a bonnet scoop,I have noticed Sierras are the same?

The intercooler is mounted at the front which is a lot better for cooling, same as the Evo's etc. Escort had a two stage water/air, air/air intercooler I think.

The Impreza WRC has a front mounted intercooler the bonnet scoop does naff all.

I forgot bout the Lancers.Where do they put the radiator if the intercooler is hogging all the space at the front?

The bonnet scoop on scoob WRC does have a function, just not the same as on our cars.. IIRC it feeds the airbox through a big muther of a panel filter. BIG airflow, forget the old 'remove your resonator' or induction kit's we have to put up with http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Chuckster,

Yes you are correct, forgot the scoop is used for induction intake on the WRC. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
