My P1 vs M3 CSL vs FQ340
 

Was wondering how will my car do against my Boss new Evo IX FQ340 and my m8s CSL ?

My current P1 is running 357bhp 347lbft

Specs:
VF35
HKS FMIC
560cc
RCM induction kit
RCM headers
Miltek exhaust

Line them up and see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I d say very well considering your car wheighs quite a bit less than the other two

MMmmm think it would be close.

The bloke with the CSL will be getting the bird, if that was the question. The other two will get a meal for one, four Stellas and a bluey.

Your car should be fastest untill 140mph at which point the CSL will catch and pass you both. Where the audi? You guys chicken sh!t?

P1 up to 100- 120, then the CSL will start to drag you in, take him down the twisties though, you`ll loose him. 9 340 i`d say again, P1 FOR SURE...

A IHI seat ibiza would beat each of those cars in a roll on race. Straight line is nothing lets talk nurburgring.

Well mate for your info my car has close to 400bhp and it is a classic meaning its pretty light, so i would like to see him try!

Its going to be close, in fact over say quarter of a mile I'd say it was whoever is the best at changing gear rapidly will do it. Its so close that if anyone of the drivers fluffs a gear change and the other 2 don't, then they are likely to come in third.

It also depends how accurate your measurement of your mods is. Some rolling roads are a little optimistic to say the least.

Talk your boss into hiring out an airfield or summit and give it a try. Make a great vid to stick on here (especially if your P1 does them and the boss comes in last!! :lol1: :D )

well cupras are a little over 1000kg and after IHI have 330hp and something like 330lbft of torque!

The P1 will win full stop. Don't listen to all this rubish about the CSL being quicker over 140mph because it won't. My P1 was running less power than you and at that speed my P1 was quicker than a CSL.
As for the FQ340, no worries. I've had a play with a 380bhp + Evo 8 and there was nothing in it so I wouldn't worry about anything with less power.

To be fair mate, IHI ibizas are extremely quick.

350bhp/330lbft and fwd meaning very little losses and power at wheel figures in region of 310whp.

Even with 400bhp in your classic, i doubt you'd be making any ground at all, if at all.

As to original question, my £££ would be on P1 upto around 130mph then CSL afterwards.

Just a quick question to anyone who can answer, If everyone is saying the M3 CSL will be quicker after 130mph, I thought they where limited to 155mph, If thats the case how would the M3 start to pull away, last time I looked the scooby doesnt just stop dead at 130mph!!!!! :Suspiciou

I suspect on some rollers the standard IX FQ340 would be of similar power to the tuned up P1 on VF35, just it weighs about 10% more.

On a TD05 but otherwise similar setup to the P1 on a MY00 UK Scooby, it actually was far more impressive against my E46 M3 at higher speeds and was always changing gear at lower speeds. I would say it would be equal to the CSL in a straight line, and behind it on a dry smooth track. £200 spend on the Evo would see it right there as well.

You're talking 10% either way in all of these which depends on rollers, mods, and how well the driver changes gear.

my car is bigger than yours though, and most likely my good old diesel will be faster too :thumb:
