Clarkson in this months TG, hes got our number !

This week in TG, Clarkson explains why the last series of TG was so knockabout with little in the way of actual car features.

He said it should be called, 'Last of the summer Petrol', three old duffers messing about, the little daft one has a crash, pretty good analogy and one that my mum came up with months ago !

Anyway, he said that those in Cybergeek world werent happy and that they want Chris Goffey back, he explained that they filmed all the expensive features and then had to fit it into six weeks hence very little time for the comparatively cheap features involving driving a car round some roads and the Stig timing it round a track. All that lot was meant to be over nine weeks but they had to use it.

So we were all up in arms and saying it had lost its way, he also added that the Cybergeeks could complain about it all they want, that is when they werent masturbating !

He was, I suppose, accurate inthe most part and evidence that the TG presenters do scan the boards occasionally,

So Jeremy if you are reading this, you got it spot on, well done, but we don't
beleive for one minute that you yourself are not a frequent and enthusiastic computer onanist !

Now theres an image to spoil your dinner, JC hunched over a pc having a grumble !

And on that bombshell.....

i think its had its day now,

its constantly on sky repeated, a sure sign.

even the william wollard ones were good at first but eventually the get monotonous, and boring.

i susupect that pompous public school clarkson knows this, and thats why hes getting on to other things like tracing his ancstors and the dunkirk raid, and flogging it to america.

Lot of truth in that I reckon.

Had its day ?

Maybe it needs to keep fresh by adapting and not flogging the formula to death but the viewing figures suggest that plenty of people still want to watch it.

Popularity isn't a reflection of quality. Plenty of people watch Eastenders/Coronation Street..... :cuckoo:

No, thats true but popular entertainment by its nature panders to the majority, we arent (BBS car freaks that is) the majority.

I enjoy it, i don't watch much telly, Life on Mars, TG, Sopranos and thats about it, apart from Discovery things about big dumper trucks, bridges and sharks.

So, I would love to know what Top Gear, or its successor seeing as it is so played out should consist of, should there really be any motoring shows on the tv ?

I don't think one designed by Scoobynetters would really have enough appeal, can you imagine it.

j4ckos mate 13 April 2007 01:09 PM
