Update on Engine Rattle
 

According to the dealer I've just spoken to 'its something serious in the heart of the engine'!!
At this time he can't give me any idea on cost or what even wrong with the thing!
I know that this is probably a stupid question, but can anyone give me any advice.
What I dont want to do is let them loose on stripping it down and end up with a 'blank cheque' situation.
Any one know what a replacement 2 litre engine costs

Just read your other posts. It's not much of description. So unless the dealer is some kind of "Super Mechanic", I wouldn't worry yet, until you have a proper diagnoisis. Seeing as he used the words "Heart of the engine", I suspect he don't have much of a clue.
Try and get to another garage for a second opinion before you commit to any repairs.
I've seen prices for re-builds starting at 1700GBP, but hopefully it wont come to that.
