fmic issues

Recently got a fmic and the hose for the dump valve that was supplied is just a coolant hose. I am currently having some issues with boost (or lack of), It sounds like I have a massive air leak however all pipework is sturdy and has been sealed with hairspray and the only other pipe (which hasnt been sealed) is the dump valve take off pipe (it is tight though). I am thinking this may be ballooning slightly and letting air out.
My car is massively overfuelling at the moment because of this (approx 70 miles on about £25 of fuel!!)

any suggestions?

Cheers

anyone?

Coolant hoses are still pressure rated fairly high. Not sure the exact amount, but I know it would be more than 20 odd psi that would be running throught the system. But it sounds like you know what the problem is, so you may as well get on replacing that pipe.
Unless you think it may be the DV itself. Maybe have a run with it blanked off. Should help to eliminate the problem.

Agree with joey could the be the dump valve itself. Remove the valve and blank off the hole and try it

will eithe rblank it off or reconnect the standard recirc but vent it to atmo

standard recirc is not good to use in not recirc mod and will open on cruise and possibly idle.

what dump valve do you have on at the moment? it almost sounds like you have connected dumpvalve connections together with no dumpvalve??
but presume not..

Hi Simon its a turbosmart megasonic. It is dumping okay just not allowing me mega boost. I shortened the hose (was approx 7" to start with) and that has seemed to have helped matters, I am going to order a proper samco hose today from demon tweeks and that should help. Also I realised that my throttle body to pipe connector is 70mm to 63mm and it should be 70mm to 61mm for a tight fit. Although the jubilee clip is very tight, there is a possibility that this is letting out air as well under boost conditions.

I have turned the boost right down this morning to .5 on the avcr and it drives much better
