HELP with crack in carbon fibre splitter!!

Hey guys...I have just bought my 03 WRX STI

It has been lowered 40mm all round and has a carbon fibre splitter on the front, I very stupidly let my brother take the car for a spin and as he approached my road he managed to scrape the spitter and it now has a crack in it. It is quite noticable and I was wondering if it can be repaired or if there is an alternative to carbon fibre as I live near quite a few road humps. Although I do think the carbon fibre looks better then plastic...

Help is much apprieciated

cheers
T

I would love a carbon splitter myself.. but dont think I would want to risk it - especially with the way the roads are near where I live :(
You can certainly reinforce the splitter from behind to give it added strength.
You can cover the crack with fibreglass resin (working it into the crack as best as possible as well) and then sand it back using a sanding block and progressively finer sandpapers. It will look scuffed - dont worry. Take an orbital polisher to it with something like Brasso and it *SHOULD* polish smooth and clear again.

However...you will have reinforced it... but depending on how bad the crack is - it would most likely be visible as a split/hairline crack.

You could always spray it car coloured?

Post a pic up of the damage maybe?

Hey, and yes it was my brother not me! im way to protective over my scooby to drive over bumps at speed!!

I think its a bit difficult to just cover up, il post some pics of it up.

Thanks

Anything can be repaired. I once rebuilt a nosecone for a formula ford racer from a bucket full of bits after a crash. Send or post a pic of the damage and I'll advise.
