What's the WORST car you've ever owned?

Mine was a 1990 Ford Fiesta 1.1 CVT.

Truly awful car.

Sideways 05 April 2007 07:29 AM

Renault 5 GTL 1300 ( 1st car ) snapped the torsion bar trying to go too fast around a corner :D

Rob_Impreza99 05 April 2007 07:43 AM

Lancia Delta Integrale Evo, the car was fantastic but they are a rust bucket and its hard to keep on top of the rust with any Lancia in our climate.

kensa 05 April 2007 07:43 AM

My 1st one... A Brown vauxhall Chevette with upgraded 13" Wolfrace wheels :lol1:

D1CCY 05 April 2007 08:01 AM

Vauxall Cresta PB Automatic. Always going wrong, rarely started and drank fuel. Always fancied a PA Cresta (great shape) but never got one.

Paddi70 05 April 2007 08:17 AM

Red Renault Megan 1.6, ended up with a cracked head. Never liked the thing. Before that had a Astra Sport 1.8 which I loved.

kwispel 05 April 2007 08:34 AM

C5 2.0 HDi Estate ...

Spent more time at the (useless) dealer than at home...

turbo wrx 05 April 2007 09:02 AM

Must be a trend going on here, but from an embarrassment point of view a brown chevette with upgraded carb and seats.

From a reliability point of view it has to be a Renault Clio 16v, it was 12 months old, the gear selector for reverse snapped, the brakes warped, the electric windows stopped working it used loads of oil, the list goes on! I had it for 10 months and swapped it for a new MY97 impreza turbo. Now that was one of the best I have ever owned.

Lot of French cars being posted !?

Nezz10 05 April 2007 09:35 AM

A 1995 Ford Fiesta 1.3LX, brake like sponges, suspension like jelly, seats that were designed to make you as uncomfortable as possible and sweat as much as possibile and the highly overpowered power steering.

fivetide 05 April 2007 09:49 AM

Nova 1.2 wobbled around like a jelly. bought it as a run around for a few months and that was long enough!

5t.

monkeysan 05 April 2007 10:05 AM

1990 Ford Orion ghia 1.6i

truely SHOCKING electrics

craggers 05 April 2007 10:10 AM

Leon 20VT Cupra .. part component keep breaking away. The engine itself is good.

Had to spend over £1k on repair alone on first year alone so got rid of it.

bagpipes 05 April 2007 10:13 AM

05 honda civic typr R

CrisPDuk 05 April 2007 10:22 AM

A 1987 Mk4 Escort 1.6 Automatic that was past it's best when I bought it:rolleyes: But I needed a car in a hurry and it was cheap:)

It was considerably further past it's best when I sold it 7 months later for what paid for it:D

CupraDave 05 April 2007 10:22 AM

Beige 950cc Mk1 Fiesta :(

Russ71 05 April 2007 10:25 AM

55 plate Vauxhall Astra SRI, what aload cr@p.

kend 05 April 2007 11:31 AM

1997 Astra 1.4.

Old car blew up 2 days before starting new job. Bought 2nd hand astra from nearest garage to work, during my lunch hour. Hated it with a passion. Sold it 1 year later, after being overtaken by a hearse going up a hill. Trade in value badly affected by dents in drivers door from drivers boot.

AlexJReid 05 April 2007 12:17 PM

106 GTI

Head gasket twice and it wasn't like I thrashed it.

Idled at 300-3000rpm when it felt like it (numerous sensors, software updates, etc didn't fix)

Sadly, a cracking car when it worked :( Which wasn't often.

WRX TWIN TURBO 05 April 2007 12:23 PM

 A "DATSUN BLUEBIRD" :lol1: It was awful... It was like a off colour white with a few patches (Body Filler)..
BUT NOW i have a scooby:luxhello: Wooo Hoooooo

impreza_terzo3_no257 05 April 2007 12:30 PM

renault 19 16v and all 5 of them that i owned

rossyboy 05 April 2007 12:35 PM

Rover Coupe Turbo.

Lovely looking car, but cost a fortune to replace all the bits that kept going wrong.

collierm 05 April 2007 01:03 PM

F plate Ford Escort XR3i. Dashboard would just decide 2 seconds before I jumped in whether or not to work, mostly not. Absolute P.O.S.

LG John 05 April 2007 01:15 PM

The current beater! A 1997 Fiesta 1.something! I've sat in it a few times when the g/f is driving trying to find ANYTHING, no matter how small about it that I like. There is nothing. Not a single switch, characteristic, or part of the car!! I like nothing about it at all.

stilover 05 April 2007 01:18 PM

Clio 172
