Been reading the official PS£ forum, seems some owners are having issues with reliability,, halfway through flash upgrades, or just after flash upgrades, the units are dying.. (bit like the scoob oil change, big end issue) ..

was quite a good review on oblivion, graphics look good, very good, but the price is still the killer

Wonder if the modding scene has started yet ??!! very surprised if a firware hack is not availble like it is with the 360 or is what you are referring to with the flash upgrade ??

No apparantly it was the Sony update that it does periodically,,,

there is a report of the hard drive being trashed too

Sony dont like modding, look at the PSP.. yet they choose to run linux on the machine (ps£) which is a developers delight

Does it work like a firmware / BIOS update on a PC ?

In which case I can see lots of PS3 owners turning OFF their machine midway through an update and trashing the console.
