Its not too hard should take you about 2 hours to do.

Centre gear console needs removing.
lower passenger glove box
centre top glove box
Front trim dash panel (just in front of the screen) reveals 2 10mm bolts.
Side panels, centre console/radio etc.
speedo surround & clock
lower dash panel, above pedals.
2 x 12mm bolts that hold the steering column, dropping the column with wheel helps aid removal of the dash.

The rest is unpluggin the loom connectors & a few nuts & bolts that are hidden.

Cheers, how do you remove the plastic suround thats around the heater controls, stereo etc. Mine has cracked and is in need of a rescue!! (sorry for the hijack)

You need to remove the plastic trim in the centre gear console first.
The bit under the handbrake lever & the plastic gear ever trim/gaiter.
With them out the way your carefully pull the centre console back towards you. Its held in place by clip design.
2 at the bottom by the ashtray , 2 at the top & about 2 small pegs on each side.

You could use a flat blade screw driver to prize the sides out first which is what I do. Mind you it should not matter in your case as its already damaged.

Ive got it 90% out, but it seems to be trapped at the bottom on something. Had a good look and cant seem to get it unstuck. Where exactly are the clips for the bottom?!

You wont see the clips. Just apply even pressure & pull it towards you.

They are all peg type clips.
