Photoshop Help Please

Please could someone help out a Photoshop newbie?

I have been playing with pics of my car trying to figure out which mods I might go for but I cant seem to darken the windows while keeping them transparent

If someone could do it for me that would be great but I would still like to know how to do it for future projects.
