New Discs ?
How do you no if you need new discs are there any signs
Thanks Neil |
Mine click every now and again, and there's a bit of feedback through steering wheel when braking....:)
|
Usually noise, mine squeaking like mad at just about any speed and shaking of the steering wheel under braking.
|
technically everything else being in good working order its simply down to min. thickness.............................

When i rub my finger on the disc there is a ridge at the edge is this a problem
Thanks Neil |
yes this wont help, that is where the pads have worn an edge to the disc over a long period of time, if you get really bad shaking through the steering wheel when braking and sometimes when not braking depending on how bad it is, that is the discs warped and in need of changing quickly.

Thanks Neil The edge is just from gradual wear, depends on how bad it is |
The only real way to tell is as Alyn says: thickness.
You'll need to know the minimum thickness allowed, and have access to a micrometer. A vernier gauge won't do as the lip worn on the edge will give a fake reading. Alcazar |

Thanks Neil |
