New Audi TT

Just wondering if anyone on here has any real world dealings with them? Are they the improvment over the previous model most of the reviews say. And more importantly, can a guy own one now without being called a hairdresser :D

stilover 26 March 2007 03:52 PM

Just buy an S3 instead

AudiLover 26 March 2007 05:27 PM

I liked the looks of the MK1 but wouldnt drive one. The MK2 looks great, drives great, and I would drive one.

The MK2 is a phenomenal car. Just make sure to equip the magnaride!

Rapid17 26 March 2007 05:39 PM

My brother has owned both and said the new model is far superior.

The new TT maybe more of an improvement "under the skin", howerver, IMO the orignal TT still looks the best. The new one looks a bit more "effeminate" whereas the original has more bolder design and nothing else looks like it.

blagman 28 March 2007 11:50 PM

I like them

Looks awfully Shiney mr blagman!!!! ;)

Much prefer the looks of the new one, far less ghey. Had an unaccompanied test drive in the 3.2 quattro and cained the ****e out of it. I was really impressed, the only realy down point was the fluffy steering. The TC worked very well, and it seemed to like 6000rpm dropclutch launches :D

It's very nice a complete change from the Evo & Suburu Ive had before, I have speced it with S line suspension (10 mm lower re valved shocks) & quick shift gear change so it handles very well. Still running in I have only covered 300 miles to date, but it feels very planted and the V6 engine has a lovley growl further up the rev range. The interior is stunning I went for extended leather and Bose sound system with 11 speakers and 240 watts:D so it's a very nice place to be stuck in traffic. Never rearly given the TT a thought because of all the negative press about ride and handling and image but this new one is fantastic and is so much better, also agree with people saying that the MK2 looks more aggressive and purposeful.

More likely he ran over a large can of hair gel that fell out of the boot on the way back from the cash and carry;)

How much cost above the base price of the V6 did this add?

TG car cost an arm and a leg to spec up.

BUG4LIFE 29 March 2007 10:22 AM

Get a 350Z instead - it is just about to be updated with a brand new 309bhp V6. You can get it in bright orange to now...a real mans car!

Base 3.2 is £29285
Bose sound system £475
Extended leather £350
Turbine 18's wheels £350
Quick Shift £150
S line sport suspension £425

You could quiet easly spend £35/36K though:eek:

I like them. The 2.0 T tho seems alot better value than the 3.2. I specced a 2.0T up at about £27k with alloys, stereo etc.

I thought this too, I originally ordered the car as a 2.0t with the same spec and it came out at £27,750 otr, then the demo 2.0t came in and i drove that and gave it a good pasting but the traction control light just kept flashing away which drove me mad and slowed progress. The 2.0t is very tunable and I was going to re map it and put a Miltek exhaust on which would have cost another £1000 so it was a no brainer in the end 3.2 with four wheel drive all the way;)

Well IMO the MK1 looks have aged pretty well cosidering it came out in 1998. With its non coporate nose, sharp lines and lower roof line it still doesn't look out of place even to this day. If it weren't for the badge, you'd never know who'd made them.

agree the mk1 has aged well....still think the mk2 is less rounded and more agressive looking :)
