water leak

i think i may have a very small water leak as for the past few days ive been able to smell burning water. well i hadnt noticed any water loss untill this aft. it seemed like it was coming from the left hand side down by the radiator. i dont think its from the top as i cant see anything so i take it its further down. the cars a 98 uk model. im off to my uncles garage tomorrow to have a look but just wondered if this was a "common" prob or if anyone else has had this?

not too bothered as its only a leak which shouldnt be too much to repair but if anyone can offer any help it would be appreciated :thumb:

thanks, gaz!

If it is a leak then you should be able to hear it, get the engine warmed up and the water should be under pressure, if its a leak you'll hear it hissing as the pressure pushes the water out of the leak.

Had my rad give up 2 weeks ago, first noticed the hissing as I parked up on the drive, was still going 2 hours later. Took the rad off and it had gone at the seal on the side. Changed it for a aluminium racing rad.
cheers
