exchange 2003 issue (OWA)

Hello

Thought Id try scoobynet after google hasnt helped.:)

Ive just implemented exchange 2003 from 5.5.
The issue i have is.

When i log in owa at home using ie 6 or 7 i get
"the folder can't be displayed. you dont have permission to perform this action." ( it lets me log in)
on my inbox.

However if i use firefox web browser I can access my mail no probs at all.

The server is setup as default.

If I access the owa internally using ie it works fine.
if there are any experts on exchange 2003 your ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

In IE, check your security settings, under custom level, and check the section for user authentication.
SHould be set to "automatic logon only in intranet zone", or "prompt for username"

This is IE6, so mabe slightly diferent in IE7

thanks ill have alook
its the same prob for ie6 and 7

It is probably security settings within IE.

I use OWA and use IE 7. If it helps my security settings are set to “Automatic logon only in intranet zone”.

Go into Internet options, click security tab, then click on the custom level button. Scroll down to the bottom of the window where you will see “User Authentication”. Mine is set to “Automatic logon only in intranet zone”.

Have you tried hitting refresh when it comes up with that ?

At work we have a similar issue, 30 day password resets, and if you are within 10 days of hitting that time limit it does exactly this problem.

Have to say i didnt implement or support our internal exchange stuff, but its not right whatever they have done ;)

This was the first entry I googled:
You receive multiple prompts to type your user credentials when you try to access a public folder in Exchange Server 2003 Outlook Web Access

but one question: are you publishing Exchange through ISA?

magnet 19 March 2007 09:48 AM

I get no prompts for authentication other than the initial login.

it all works fine internally which leave me to beleive its a firewall issue.

we use a firewall/proxy. Im thinking this must be the cause.

cheers
