Hi,
Not knowing much about PC`s I need some advice . . . .

I`ve been offered a COMPAQ Armada 100S Laptop, apparently only a few months old.
Questions

1. Is this a current model?

2. Are they any good?

3. How much are/were they?

4. Is it good value at £350

Thanks in advance

Dont know to be honest, your best bet will be to check the Compaq web site to see how current it is, then do some searchs on it from altavista for some reviews, then check other places like loot.com etc... to see how much they go for! :D

hope it's a bargin matey

AFAIK the 100S range has recently been replaced by the 110S range.
There were various models in the 100S range (different screen types/sizes, different memory etc) the part number would tell you the exact specification.

The last time I recall seeing new 100S for sale they were around £750 for the middle of the range. I know that one that was almost the top of the range was sold on an auction site a couple of weeks ago for £500.

See www.compaq.co.uk/products/portables/100s/index.stm for details of specifications etc.

A friend of mine recently 'came across' a rather high-spec Compaq laptop too.

He payed £250 for his

The internal DVD-Rom broke on it, and he's now looking at BIG money to get a replacement.

So if anyone knows anywhere on the web that might sell such odds and sodds for laptops, let me know.
