New C-class sticks it to the 3 series

"Sport mode transforms the car’s character, though, with the dampers stiffening, making the Merc even more focused. Throttle response is more eager, the steering weights up and offers greater feedback, and body movement is virtually eliminated.

The setting also improves the auto box; it snaps through its ratios faster and holds on to gears to provide more engine braking. The C-Class is a big step up over the previous car – now, it can give the BMW 3-Series a run for its money in terms of driver appeal. Yet at the same time, long trips won’t leave occupants tired.

So it doesn’t matter whether you prefer the comfort-biased or sporty model – either way, we think the new C-Class is guaranteed to be a big hit"

If it is like this version, it will only be sticking it's head in the dirt.

New C-Class sticks it to the 3 series........

...it must utterly spank the A4 then......

There you go... conclusive proof the new C sticks it to the E90...

By the way I thought this idiot was banned. Has he been reborn as MercLover?

Ah, I see (AL) the cut and paste specialist is back !!

Don’t know why but it reminds me of the current Ford Mondeo, especially that lower front grill mesh and the fog lights, Interior does as well a bit !!

Front lights are pure Astra!

Janspeed 14 March 2007 09:57 PM

Just another German clone...............:Whatever_

Janspeed 14 March 2007 09:59 PM

Is the driver in the first pic a ZOMBIE? Look carefully! I think he is dead!

LOLOL It is so boring he......died!

rabbos 14 March 2007 10:05 PM

So could it be a photoshop of an astra-mondeo? ;)

I was wondering round the motorshow today and couldn't see anything interesting at all from the germans, in fact I nearly slipped into a coma at the audi stand. If it wasn't for the startegically placed Lambos, I would have been stretchered out.

You must have looked that guy driving the car in the pic above! :norty:

Looks good. TBH I thought thought the old C-Class was a cracking car...... totally let down by appalling build quality. Lets hope this one is better.

So what is it: good or bad??? :wonder: :wonder: :wonder:

SiDHEaD 15 March 2007 09:35 AM

Reminds me of that Kia saloon

J4CKO 15 March 2007 01:27 PM

Its bizzarre how there are arguments on here about cars that nobody has owned or driven yet. I drove the old C class and loved it, my father in law had one, it was pretty troublesome he replaced it with a an A4 (brand new) and the gearbox went after 2 weeks !

I preffered the Merc to drive but they are both very nice.

Need to remember just how good these cars all are, compare the new Mondeo to the Sierra that Ford was producing just 15 years ago

R 14NS R 15 March 2007 03:57 PM

going out to seville for the official launch and 3 days training on it next month, the pictures don t do it justice at all. saw one last week at M-B world at brooklands.

i drive a current c320 cdi, it is a genuinely fast car. cant wait til may for my new demo one to arrive (hopefully).

Shame it hasn't got the funky rear lights from the S class though

lol mercedes are the only manufacturer to get 2 tonne cars round the 'ring in under 8 mins. Subaru (and no offense meant) struggle to do so with a specially 'ring prepared car

IJE71 16 March 2007 04:34 PM

:cuckoo: The USS Saratoga has more hp and is a bit heavier than the mercs, its still not fast though.
:D I'd rather push a scooby than drive a german car.

AMG don't do a C30 CDI

You've toasted a standard merc with "bodykit and wheels" job mate.

Do you still feel so "cocky" now?

Duck_Pond 16 March 2007 04:52 PM

Bit weird really. The styling of that Merc resembles a Lexus... which has for years been fairly obviously copying Merc :lol1:
