8k to Spend...what are we lookign at..

Hi guys,

My cousin is looking to sell his BMW for about 8k and so wants to spend the money that he will get on a Scooby (good lad, 4x4 not rear wheel nightmare) :thumb:

Anyway any thoughts on what he should get ?? he's looking at the new age but not sure which one...so many choices

Cheers
Chris.

does he want all out performance or just a decent impreza?

minty 07 March 2007 03:02 PM

He does like his performance, he's had Astra Coupe Turbo's etc so i know he'll be after some performance, he has mentioned PPP to me when he's been looking at them.

He's also slightly concearned as a lot of the ones he's looking at seem to be owned for roughly a year and then being sold or traded in.

I said i guess people had them to own one but then couldnt afford the running costs of them once they had their fun for 12 months or so.

Cheers
Chris.

Or they are serial car purchasers like me. :)

i know that situation (serial buying) it gets expensive !!

For 8K I would look at either a good Type R, or perhaps save a couple of K and go for a P1. I would certainly be a little suspicious for any 2003 WRX's at that price.

Hi Matt! How's the S3 after the STi?

minty 08 March 2007 12:25 PM

I suggested a classic rather than a new age, but i guess your going for an older car then arent you.

I have a classic so cant comment, but has anyone gone from classic to newage and wished they hadn't ??

Cheers Chris
