had a bit of a panic today!
ive just bought my 98 scooby, so obviously im paranoid about every little sound or noise that i hear. well last night i started the car and could hear a water bubbling sound, so after reading a few posts on here about that i checked my water leval started the car again and i could see the water bubbling inside the reservoir...........IVE BLOWN ANOTHER HEADGASKET i thought!
so anyway i went to my wifes uncles garage and got him to do the headgasket test using the blue liquid that turns green if your cars knacked. anyway it stayed blue :luxhello: , so ive just got an airlock in the system probably because the car was serviced on saturday having the coolant changed. lets say i left the garage alot happier than when i arrived there........which doesnt normally happen :Whatever_ |
What's the Blue liquid test then out of curiosity ?
cheers Minty. PS> good news on the air lock rather than the gasket :thumb: |
its likea syringe u put in your water tank, has blue liquid, you squueze it so it breathes the air in, if it goes green its breathing exhaust gas
|
i like it, intelligent thinking
|
yup, been around a while now, alot easier for mechanics today than yesteryear.
to test the blue dye is working, pu the syringe with it in on th eexhaust exit and watch it change colour ! |
i saw it on the garage on discovery channel,
