One Tree Hill/Corringham

About 4.45 today coming over the hill towards Corringham, sorry didn't get a year or model (too busy trying to get my daughters dummy out of my pocket!), just saw it was blue and stickered up. Thanks for the flash and the wave. I was in the MY02 black STi.

Also saw Cornelius on Monday going round the Catcracker and heading back up the Manorway, thanks for the wave too.

Hello , it wasn't me either BUT , I live in Corringham & thought I'd just pass on a bit of info incase you don't already know about the Catcracker roundabout & the stretch off it heading down towards the refinery. The old bill have decided that it's a good place to sit with their LASER GUNS!!!! I know none of us speed but just incase!! Anyway I have a Silver STi & will be looking out for all you Stanford/Corringham scoobs. Take It easy:thumb:

I used to work for BP in Coryton and used to fly down there in my Prelude, but haven't been down there since I have had the scoob. I wondered if there would be cameras down there at some point or even the laser guns. saw a very nasty crash once where a guy in a MR2 was killed down there, lost it round the 1st bend just before the left turn, thought they were going to put cameras in after that, but that was about 4/5 years ago

Will keep an eye out for you:thumb:

Have heard that there may be speed cameras put in somewhere between the traffic lights on the manorway and the refinery.

Worked for Calor for 9 years now, and have seen loads of horrendous accidents, such as a lorry carrying scaffolding shoot it's load through the drivers cab because some one had jumped the lights and the lorry locked up!.

Several cars losing control on the final bend before the refinery and end up upside down in the ditch.

A car drove into the back of a broken down tanker, driver killed instantly.

A mate lost control and wrote off his motorbike after sliding on a diesel spill.

A car lose control and smash into the barrier on the cat cracker roundabout.

And many moons ago, I had a Mk2 escort, and ended up spinning 180 degrees on the catcracker round about.

The road is too dangerous to speed, so I stick to the 50MPH limit (Honestly)

I remember approaching the Catcracker from the refinery end and my passenger said "can you smell diesel?". Just then I put my foot on the brake to slow down for the roundabout and I just slid straight into the middle of the road on the roundabout. Fortunately it was empty. I must admit as I used to drive it every day, you do get a bit complacent and take bends without thinking. On the refinery there used to be a little competition to see how fast you could go from standstill at the lights to the first no u-turn sign. A guy in a 3000GT used to be at 90+, I wouldn't know what the Prelude was as I never joined in, although I would guess it was around 80:norty:
