Iam thinking of purchasing a two door but want a more reasonable set of ratios than the type R (too short). Are any of the two door imports available with the same ratios as the P1? I believe that some of the `V ltds` have the intermediate box,if so which ones?.
I dont want to make the same mistake as when i purchased my existing car (MY94 Type RA),great around town but painful on the motorway.Ive since fitted full UK gearing making it much more user friendly but now just fancy something newer.

I was talking to a few of the type R owners at donington and my MY00 RA seems to have very similar gearing to the type R. In my RA its about 20mph per 1000rpm in 5th (ie 60 @ 3,000 rpm). I dont know how this compares to your RA ?

Fantastic for aceleration though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif.

cheers

The origanal box was about 18 MPH per 1000rpm.Ive never trackdayed it yet but would imagine that a longer set of ratios would be more suitable for donnington because the long straights.Having a rally set of ratios and screaming down the long straights must not be healthy engine wise ?..The car isnt that much slower with the uk box because iam wasting less time changing gear!Only sometimes exiting a roundabout i could do with a shorter gear.My brothers sti v3 isnt that much quicker from the lights and he has a slight power advantage and above 80mph iam quicker and can hold a decent speed without risking melted pistons! Its happened to my mates sti4 running 97 ron.
