A friend at work wants to buy her partner a day's rallying for his Xmas pressie. Can anyone recommend a rally school? Kettering/midlands area for preference.

Cheers,

Richard.

this weeks autoexpress has a special article on race and rally schools.

Top 3 Rally Schools were :

1. Phil Price Rally School www.kc3.co.uk/rally
2. Forest Experience Rally School www.rallyschools.co.uk
3. Rallydrive www.rally-drive.com

1 is in Llangunlo, Powys, Wales. £225 full day. 75 mins driving.
2 is in Carno, Powys, Wales. £155. 40 mins driving.
3 is nr Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. £109/129. 40 mins driving.

get the mag as it has other details or if u interested in any let me know and i can post / mail u more details.

Can highly recommend number 2 - RWD Escort or FWD Astra though, oh and they use LPG!!!

I can highly recommend Bill Gwynne for £350 (I think) for a full day in the group N spec scoob - it is fantastic

If Neil Micklethwaite is organising a group you can see if he has any spare places as there will be a discount arranged........

Oulton Park have a couple of nice special stages and 220bhp RWD cossie escorts that I rallied for a couple of hours that was good.

autoexpress mentions Bill G's but at cost of £150 and only 20mins driving time.

they also were not as impressed with the course layout - too basic and uninspiring.

but with more drive time it would have been close to winning....

That obviously wasn't the full day........ask anyone who went on it, it was fantastic.

I really learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed myself (and was best driver ;)) :D

Going back to Bill Gwyn's again on Saturday with Neil and some more of the SIDC crew.

This is because the Impreza had an oil leak on the first one so we only got to do 1/2 day (spare car couldn't be used as it had a fixed seat)

They invited us back for free! Now that's what I call service :D

You still coming 'chelle?

did a day with drive-it-all at Enstone in Oxfordshire a few years back.

Excellent day and there were only three of us there so we got _tons_ of time in the car :)

Cannot recommend BGRS enough.

They do a variety of courses in FWD ( Micra ) , RWD ( Escort MkII ) and 4WD ( Group N Impreza ) at various costs.

Check out web site at www.BillGwynne.com.

We are doing a day in the Impreza on Saturday and have enough people interested to run two further courses which I will be organising on Saturday to run in March and April next year.

The level of instruction and car time is spot on.

E Mail me and I will add you to the list.
