I'm curious. How many miles a year do some of you average? I know gas is more expensive over there, does it get balanced by other things to justify how much fun it is to drive?

Thanks,

Average mileage in the UK is consider to be between 10,000 to 12,000 miles.

In my last car I averaged about 26,000 miles a year, while my current car is about 11,000 miles. (Change of job roles)

Petrol is more expensive http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif , but like with all things, you get use to them.

Oh....and we have turbos and lot's of twisty roads!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

About 16 thousand at the end of my first year. I tried hard not to drive so much but couldn't help it...

Hi,

I'm doing about 20k a year. My car's on 110k miles now and still going strong. I expect to keep it another few years so will ensd up with about 170K on it by the time I sell/px http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif . Work pays for SUL http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif , so no worries there...

JoeyDeacon 16 November 2000 05:01 PM

I have only had the car 7 months so far but averaging it out over 12 months I will have done 11000 miles.

Is that what you call a waste?? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Ian Cook 16 November 2000 05:04 PM

You guys are quick with the responses. Thanks! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

That's about the same mileage for me. Who'd a thought.

Thanks for rubbin' it in Andy. As ugly as everyone says it is won't stop me from getting our version of the WRX. Like someone else said, you can't see it from the inside http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

No probs...

I guess if they were not as fun to drive, we would not be as willing to do the miles http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

24,000 a year ... just a 35 mile round trip to work and back every day, and a few weekends away ... adds up! Eeek! Works out at 2p per mile in tyre wear alone!!

Andrew.

Steven Coomber 17 November 2000 04:59 PM

I only do about 8000 miles a year. I must be in a minority group or something.

Mind you, work is only 1.5 miles away and the car only gets used on weekends.

By car, it takes me approx. 3 minutes to get to work (or 4 minutes if the lollypop lady stops me http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif )

Steve

kurtw 17 November 2000 11:15 PM

I'd estimate about 35-40k per year in my P1.

Had the car 8 weeks, done 7000 miles. You do the math.

Kurt
