Tivo serial cable ?

Anyone got one I can borrow for a couple of days ?

Can't get the turbonet card on the network and I'm getting p*ssed off repeatedly pulling the disc.

Postage refunded + drink etc etc ..

Cheers
Steve

Steve, I haven't got one, but I presume you've got your tivo networked? If so, is it possible to watch tivo recorded programs on a pc anywhere in the networked house? 4 pc's, one tivo, record show on tivo, watch upstairs on pc?
cheers,

yes, you can pull the files off the tivo and easily convert them to mpeg2 ( tystudio will do it on the fly )

That's one of the reasons I want it. I need to rid my tivo of the eleventy million episodes of Dora the Explorer so it stops deleting my Stargate episodes :D

why can't you get the TiVo networked? Can we help with that as I don't have a serial cable?

I've pulled the A disc, installed the turbonet card , copied over the /var/hack stuff for later, configured telnet to start from both hda7 and hda4 partitions , run the installer and set it up on the right subnet with a fixed address.... won't even ping at the moment.

I've checked the network point by plugging a laptop in and that's fine... just need to get at the logs to see what it's complaining about.
